Unpaid care work is a major culprit, as it limits women’s options for education, work, and entrepreneurship. Over 600 million women worldwide are unavailable for paid work due to obligations with family and childcare.
Luckily, there is a highly impactful measure at our disposal that has until now been underutilised: Early Childhood Care and Education. It is a ‘Triple Win’: freeing women’s time to work, improves children’s health and development, and is a large growth creator through new jobs, businesses, taxes, and increased productivity.
Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) is the bedrock of our work, lifted by our 4 main tools – quality assurance, education, centre-based childcare, and value-chain creation.
These tools encompass direct project implementation as well as transformative awareness-raising, to ensure that social justice and internationally recognised human rights are realised in practice, not just in theory.
