4. Value-chain creation
Value-chain creation refers to entrepreneurship support to scale homegrown companies delivering goods and services to childcare centres. This could include learning materials, small-size furniture, books and uniforms, as well as clean and energy, construction services, or a host of related items. Sourcing inputs – that could easily be made locally – from distant places comes at a cost, both financially and environmentally. Local production reduces emissions, creates jobs, and captures more of the wealth that is created when developing the ECCE sector.
